Goblins: Alternate Realities

Man, Kickstarter just screwed up big-time.

Mantis Storage Case Kickstarter

Well, I didn't really want to have to write this but things aren't looking so great for this Kickstarter at the moment. So this was a Kickstarter that finalised during Aug 2014 and was supposed to ship out by Sep 2014. Unfortunately, it got too successful and as of now, most of the items still haven't shipped out. Sadly, delays are becoming all too common in the KS industry now and if that was all, I wouldn't be writing about this.

Dust: Operation Babylon Kickstarter

Short history; Dust Studios used to be partnered with FantasyFlight Games for distribution but eventually switched to Battlefront and together they launched a kickstarter (link) last year with Battlefront taking the money as the distribution arm and paying Dust Studios for the production. However, things seems to have gone south. Updated: 3rd Feb 2015

EvilHat, Censorship and Penguins

How do the 3 tie in together? Read on and see. Warning, may be long.

Alien VS Predator

Wow, this has gotten into so much trouble that I'm glad I didn't back this kickstarter. Mostly because at the time it was very very expensive; we're talking about 30 British pounds for THREE Predator resin figurines. That and the fact the logo looks like the two deadliest alien species in the galaxy are dancing with each other instead of fighting.

Robotech RPG Tactics #5

Palladium are the used-car salesmen of the hobby gaming industry. They are barely one step above Defiance Games and really should not be trusted in any way with your money in advance. They are not above lying to get what they want during the Kickstarter and then purposely screwing over backers once they have received the money. Honestly, this will probably be the last I write about this game because frankly, unless the minis are goddamn amazing; and I'm talking Kingdom Death or Malifaux amazing, it's not worth this shit to put up with some two-bit GamesWorkshop thug wannabe. Also spoiler, the minis are nowhere near that amazing.

Defiance Games #3

And this whole sad sorry mess comes tumbling down....

Blue Table Painting

So Blue table painting is a commission painting house that’s been around for a while. I say painting house because it’s not really run by a painter but more as a business, where the business employs several painters under him to paint for them. Needless to say, this can result in very dramatically different standards in painting.

GamerGate

The most recent scandal to hit the Gaming scene, involving corruption, sex and lots of crazy people. Warning, long text inside.

Panda GM

Previously I had written about Wargames Factory (link) and how they had  a hand in the delays of several Kickstarters. This time I'm writing about yet another potential manufacturer/middleman that Kickstarter creators may NOT want to work with.

Diversity in Wargaming

Apparently there are people who will get pissed off at anything. Coming from a somewhat secular country that's surrounded by pretty non-secular countries, it's always interesting; and sometimes amusing, to hear about the differences in perception between the different cultures. Case in point, the way we view Haqqislam is apparently very different from the way some nearby neighbors view it.

Robotech RPG Tactics #4

You know at some point, I'd like to stop writing about this KS and just get my models already. Otoh, this probably requires Palladium to stop fucking up somehow so that's unlikely. Hopefully, this will be my LAST update on the subject before I get my stuff.

Robotech RPG Tactics #3

Or really What has Palladium been doing all this while?

Game Salute

My friend gave me a link to a Kickstarter which had decided to cut down on some extra backer rewards because it lacked the money to publish them. While this by itself was sort of annoying but not huge in the grand scheme of things as far as Kickstarters go, I began digging a bit more.

Guardians Chronicles

It seems like everyday, there's always some new issues on Kickstarter....

Robotech Tactics #2

Palladium kind of lives up to its reputation...

Singapore March 8th Android NetRunner Regionals

So there was an Android NetRunner Regionals recently at Gamersaurus Rex, one of the game shops I hang around. Apparently it had a fairly large turnout with 42 people turning out. Man, I wish our WMH tournaments had that many people turn up. Unfortunately, with this many people turning up, it means there's inevitably going to be some drama turning up.
