Mission Impossible Rogue Nation

Finally managed to catch this film. Found it a lot more...comedic than the previous films, which was strange since I always thought of Mission Impossible as a more serious type of spy film.

Pixels

Pixels is one of those movies I want to like, but seriously, there were just too many factors that screwed it over. 

VS 2PCG

The new VS is out and I ended up queuing close to 2 hours for it during Gencon. It was that popular, but hey it's a comic book TCG.

Gencon 2015 #2

So Gencon has finished and it was a blast. Although, as usual I spent most of my time queuing up at various stands.

Here I am again, at Gencon. And spending most of my time queuing up for stuff as usual. Thankfully, FFG has no new game coming out at the moment that I'm interested in and Privateer Press has implemented a system that is reminiscent of Disneylands fast-track queuing system, which has cut down on my queuing time significantly. 

Ant-Man

This was a pretty entertaining movie at times but there were definitely parts that could have been improved. 

Age of Sigmar

So I've had a demo game of Age of Sigmar recently and I can't say I'm too impressed. 

Arkam Knight

So I've been playing a LOT of Arkham Knight on the PS4, and it's been pretty fun. Long time fans of the Arkham series SHOULD enjoy this barring a few parts of the game. 

Minions

A surprisingly good film. I would actually say I enjoyed this more than both Jurassic World and Terminator Genisys. 

Terminator Genisys

Terminator Genisys feels like the franchises own 'Days of Future past', in which the slate is wiped clean. It's also kind of like the TV series, the Sarah Conner Chronicles in a way as well, with its multiple timelines. 

Jurassic World

Jurassic World is a lot more like Japanese Godzilla than Jurassic Park, which is strange.

House Rules: Yay or Nay

Everyone has a few when it comes to playing RPGs or cooperative board games, but what about wargames? Should house rules be encouraged? Or discouraged? Warning, a bit of a rant in this one. 

Spy

Spy is the type of movie where a hopeless clerk ends up becoming a field agent and somehow saves the day through sheer luck and undiscovered competence. There, I've told you everything about the plot of Spy. However, despite the cliche plot, there are moments of genuine hilarity in the movie. 

Witcher 3

So I've been playing this for close to a week now and I just have this to say. This is good, really good. 

Cthulhu Wars

Great miniatures but I'm a bit confused about the actual lack of 'war' in a game that calls itself Cthulhu Wars.

Xiaomi Mi Pad

So I've been using one of this for a while now. My verdict? The hardware is decent but the UI is horrible. Seriously, if you're going to buy this, root it and change the ROM version. 

Amos Yee: The boy who cried Molest

There was once a boy who cried wolf just to see the reactions of the towns people. Amos Yee however takes it one step further and is now the boy who cried molest just to troll people.

Arcadia Quest

So I didn't back this on KS but I managed to pick this up while it was cheap on Amazon, with free shipping to Singapore. Pretty decent game that has some areas that could use improvement with.

Q: What is Broken Roads?

A: It's an official Privateer Press league that's casual in nature

Q: What is special about Broken Roads?

A: Unlike last years league, this years league allows you to upgrade certain hero models with new skills and abilities, much like an RPG. 

Q: What pointage is this?

A: Any pointage is fine. As you'll see from the rules list, you can play a wide variety of pointage from 15points to 100+ and still get XP. 

Q: Do I need those hero models?

A: No, you need not have the actual hero models and you may proxy other models for them. However, anyone who has the actual hero models will get 1XP. 

Q: What do I need to do? 

A: Play with an opponent. Decide which area you're going to fight over as listed in the Hero XP document. If you can't be bothered to look, choose a number between 1-7. And then let me know who wins. 

Q: Where can I play this?
A: Where do you and your opponent want to play? 

Q: How often do I need to play this?

A: It's really up to you. The more you play, the more XP you get but there's nothing forcing you to play.

Mantis Storage Case Kickstarter

  Well, I didn't really want to have to write this but things aren't looking so great for this Kickstarter at the moment. So this was a Kickstarter that finalised during Aug 2014 and was supposed to ship out by Sep 2014. Unfortunately, it got too successful and as of now, most of the items still haven't shipped out. Sadly, delays are becoming all too common in the KS industry now and if that was all, I wouldn't be writing about this.

The Evolution of a PC: Lomeyo

So now that I've finished Hoard of the Dragon Queen, I feel that my character seems to have evolved quite a bit since the start of the campaign. Which is a good sign of course because it means the character is more than just a bunch of stats on a piece of paper.

Dead of Winter

This game must be doing very well, because my LGS owner was telling me how he had ordered 20 since October last year but so far, he had only received 2. After playing it, I can sort of understand why. 

Kingsman: The Secret Service

Probably the best movie I've seen this year and probably the last few months. This was an incredibly witty and charming movie, which somehow manages to include spectacular action scenes. How could I not like this?

Dropzone Commander 2 Player starter

So I've recently been getting into Dropzone commander; and as such I've bought the 2 player starter set that comes with 2 factions, the rulebooks and some map tiles and card terrain.
